Happy Birthday Stravinsky

Igor Fyodorovich Stravinsky was born June 17, 1882 and died April 6, 1971. He was an amazing Russian composer, pianist, and conductor.
His most famous work is The Rite Of Spring. This piece of work was used in the Disney Movie Fantasia. It was a cool merge of song and visual.
Here is the first part. You can watch more of it on youtube.

The first time this piece of music premiered was on May 29, 1913 in Paris at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées. It was performed as a ballet choreographed by Vaslav Nijinsky. The music and the dancing were so radical for the time that a riot broke out. The police were called and the disruption continued throughout the performance. As I listen I like to imagine people acting out with something they cannot understand. That is like Bible thumpers with evolution.
