Bible Quiz - Guess Which Book Of The Bible

Here is a challenge for Bible believers. Read this text and guess which book of the Bible it is from. If that is too hard try to guess whether it is the old or new testament? The answer is in the link. Don't peek before guessing. Good luck.

We give thee, Lord, sovereignty over the whole world.
Sit thou down in might; be exalted in thy command.
Thy weapon shall never lose its power; it shall crush thy foe.
O Lord, spare the life of him that putteth his trust in thee

He made ready the bow, he chose his weapon,
He slung a spear upon him and fastened it...
He raised the club, in his right hand he grasped it,
The bow and the quiver he hung at his side.
He set the lightning in front of him,
With burning flame he filled his body.

Then the Lord raised the thunderbolt, his mighty weapon,
He mounted the chariot, the storm unequaled for terror,
He harnessed and yoked unto it four horses,
Destructive, ferocious, overwhelming, and swift of pace;

His garment was a glowing flame , he was clothed with terror,
With overpowering brightness his head was crowned.
Then he set out, he took his way,
And toward the raging Tiamat he set his face.

The Sum Of Religion

The scientific process is a self-correcting process. The process is done in a specific order, that is observation, hypothesis, experimentation, interpretation and duplication. It is defined by external and objective observations.

Religion is internal and forever subjective. It can never be truly observed or weighed or even corrected. It has no repeatable experimentation, interpretation or duplication. Jesus said two will be in the field and one will be taken. Don't know which. Also in a parable he said the weeds cannot be separated from good wheat through human observation. It has to be sorted out at the end of time. Religion is entirely up to the one man and his one god(s) or in this case only up to Jehovah. Christians put themselves in a place that is foolish to argue for any global adherence. They are as ignorant as the Pharisees and the Sadducees in the time of Jesus. Over 90% of all the religious leaders in the Bible were not on God's side. God was constantly railing against His chosen people for there lack of understanding and following Him. So if today's Christians think they know their own sacred scriptures aka "the truth" then biblical history clearly identifies them as blind fools. How do they get off even speaking about God? Job, in the Old Testament, got a real ass chewing in the last few chapters of his book and Job was said to be an innocent, righteous man. As the Buddhist saying goes "Those who speak, don't know and those who know don't speak". And that should be the sum of religion.

Matthew 24:40-41
Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.
Matthew 13:24-30
Jesus told them another parable: The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away. When the wheat sprouted and formed heads, then the weeds also appeared. The owner’s servants came to him and said, ‘Sir, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Where then did the weeds come from?’ ‘An enemy did this,’ he replied. The servants asked him, ‘Do you want us to go and pull them up?’ ‘No,’ he answered, ‘because while you are pulling the weeds, you may root up the wheat with them. 30Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.’

We Are Stardust

Well, I came upon a child of God
He was walking along the road
And I asked him, Tell me, where are you going?
This he told me

Said, I'm going down to Yasgur's Farm,
Gonna join in a rock and roll band.
Got to get back to the land and set my soul free.

We are stardust, we are golden,
We are billion year old carbon,
And we got to get ourselves back to the garden.

Well, then can I roam beside you?
I have come to lose the smog,
And I feel myself a cog in somethin' turning.
And maybe it's the time of year,
Yes and maybe it's the time of man.
And I don't know who I am,
But life is for learning.

We are stardust, we are golden,
We are billion year old carbon,
And we got to get ourselves back to the garden.

We are stardust, we are golden,
We are billion year old carbon,
And we got to get ourselves back to the garden.

By the time we got to Woodstock,
We were half a million strong
And everywhere was a song and a celebration.
And I dreamed I saw the bomber death planes
Riding shotgun in the sky,
Turning into butterflies
Above our nation.

We are stardust, we are golden,
We are caught in the devils bargain,
And we got to get ourselves back to the garden.

How To Identify A Cult

Below is a video from a Christian on how to ID a cult.

1. Cults have a single, powerful human leader who becomes the cults messiah - Jesus - CHECK

2. Teach commandments of men - men wrote the bible CHECK

3. Force you to make a decision - burn in hell if you don't believe - CHECK

4. Each cult denies Jesus is the divine son of god - why not Krishna? - will allow 1/2 Point

5. Cults urge their converts to leave their families - Jesus said you must hate your mother and father more than him. He also said he did not come to bring peace but a sword - CHECK

So that is 4.5 points out of 5. We have a winner. Christianity is a cult. They truly have trouble seeing their own imagine in a mirror.

An aside. The video quotes:
God sends strong delusion so he can damn them to eternal hell - 2 Th 2:11-12
Oh, so God lies. That rascally rule breaker.

Kudos to Ricky Gervais

Apparently the foreign press was not happy with his performance Sunday night. Even during the performance Robert Downey Jr said Ricky made the show "hugely mean-spirited with mildly sinister undertones.", which I thought was funny, but these people cannot handle being roasted. HFPA's president said Ricky crossed the line. Ricky made an otherwise boring show interesting and funny. It does appear the last hour they held him off-stage. The normal hosting duties were being handled by the announcer. The privilege people can't handle a ribbing. They just want accolades. So unfortunately he probably won't be invited back for a 3rd time.

His best line for me was as the Golden Globes was going off the air he said "Thank you God that you made me an Atheist". A local TV anchor snidely commented about it this morning with "Oh lovely", like he said he said he loved Hitler and Stalin.

Here is his mean spirit comments.

How Not To Get The Point

Interesting interview with former Minnesota governor Tim Pawlenty who just cannot understand Jon Stewart's point and at the end Pawlenty concedes by saying to Jon "Your brain is too complex".

The question is does the rhetoric match reality? Is Obama so significantly different than Bush in that we are being lead into tyranny? Pawlenty is hung up on blaming the other side.

His book is "Courage to stand" NOT "Courage to think". I would guess this book isn't worth the paper it is printed on since he doesn't seem to comprehend a simple question.

Why Is America So Religious

How odd it is that Americans are so religious when we are the leading country in science? So many within the country think science is of the devil or is false or is illogically another faith. Yet other democratic countries in Europe are less religious and accept science for the reality it is. Countries that don't take care of their people tend to be more religious. As Americans we feel people should take care of themselves, you are on your own. Bumper stickers are calling anyone who believes the government should help people are Communist or Fascist. We also tend to honor those who have little education and yet hit the lottery and are able to build a successful business. It seems to me these two factors have lead people in the U.S. to need God. Churches also fill the gap and assist people in trouble thus making it easier to evangelize. In Europe they believe the government is theirs to help people in need and actually does so. Therefore, their population doesn't have such a need for God. If only Americans cared for their fellow Americans and saw the government as our government and not the enemy.

The Big Big Bang - the reason I am alive

Rock Mafia "The Big Bang" (feat. Miley Cyrus)

(Oh, baby) I don't wanna lie,
I'm gonna take what you're giving
'Cause I know you're willing,
To take me all the way..you got me right here.
Combustible. And I can't wait to finally explode.

The big big bang, the reason I'm alive,
When all the stars collide, in this universe inside.
The big big bang

Some people like to talk. but I'm into doing,
What I feel like doing, when I'm inspired.
So, if we take a walk down, the beach tonight,
I bet we could light up the sky.

The big big bang, the reason I'm alive,
When all the stars collide, in this universe inside.
The big big bang

Take it from me, I don't wanna be, mummified,
Sometimes I feel so isolated,
I wanna die. and now take it from me, if you got it.
Every time, so baby,
Bring your body here, next to mine.
Next to mine!
I don't wanna dream!
I just wanna live!
So baby, not lets miss this thing!

The big big bang, the reason I'm alive,
When all the stars collide, in this universe inside.
The big big bang

Hit me, big big big bang.
Oh, baby

Read The Bible

I read the Bible almost yearly and the more I read it the more I can't believe people take it literally. I cannot believe I used to take it literally. This is kind of a shocker to Christians especially those who don't regularly read it. They think just reading it will convict your soul. Then you will repent OR you will turn desperately to the devil and start having sex with your own gender. It is a piece of literature without any special spooky powers. Nothing to be afraid of. When I was a young man and my grandmother was strong arming my parents and me into believing in God. She used to take me to church at a very young age and would tell me to say to my parents "Why don't you go to church and live for Jesus?" At one point she gave me a Bible as a gift, which I appreciated. In it she wrote "This Book will keep your from sin and sin will keep you from this Book. Love, Grandma". So, I reading the book and have become an atheist. Whatcha gonna do?

Reading other books like the Lost Books of the Bible, Sumerian scripture you can see it is all the same stuff. Very primitive ways of looking at life. It was man just trying to understand his world, but unfortunately for us he made up things as he went. For the Jews they were looking for reasons for their suffering, even in a superstitious way. You can see multiple reasons. If you love God then he will bless you. Wait you are being persecuted, oh then He is testing you. No, maybe not that? No, perhaps you are being persecuted for His sake. No? Well, you just can't know these things. Wait till you get to heaven and in glory He will tell you.

The diaspora was the most significant event for honing Jewish theology. I am beginning to think the entire Bible was written during that period. The more I read of the Bible the more it fits. Moses didn't write the first 5 books of the Bible, but it was an oral tradition built up over hundreds of years and then some scribe put it to papyrus while sitting in Babylon wondering why God's promise of living in the Holy Land was not happening.

The Bible's flaws are it is very binary (black or white) in thought and ultimately has little respect for life. It does have its good moments (some of Proverbs, Ecclesiastes) but studying other ancient literature (especially older stuff) you can see the Jews plagiarized a lot of the theology around them. Same for Jesus. Rabbi Hillel originated the golden rule for example.

Most Christians miss all this and think the bible came out of void. It slants their view thinking it is some really unique book, when it is not. Building on it to me is the way to go. You don't have to eliminate it but recognize its place in history as any importance piece of literature. Morally (look out fundamental Christians) we have grown as a race. Respect for women, abolition of slavery, not stoning & burning gays, witches of course are important examples. Trying to drag us backwards is a shame and detriment. We can see other fundamental cultures around the world as examples (e.g. Ghana). God, should it exist, help us to not go back there.

I Am Not A Slave To A God That Doesn't Exist

Marilyn Manson (born Brian Hugh Warner; January 5, 1969) has written some great tunes. Here is one

Nothing suffocates you more than
The passing of everyday human events
Isolation is the oxygen mask you make
Your children breathe in to survive

But I'm not a slave to a god
That doesn't exist
But I'm not a slave to a world
That doesn't give a shit

And when we were good
You just closed you eyes
So when we are bad
We'll scar your minds

Fight, fight, fight, fight

You'll never grow up to be a big-
Rock-star-celebrated-victim-of-your-fame
They'll just cut our wrists like
Cheap coupons and say that death
Was on sale today

And when we were good
You just closed you eyes
So when we are bad
We'll scar your minds

But I'm not a slave to a god
That doesn't exist
But I'm not a slave to a world
That doesn't give a shit

The death of one is a tragedy
The death of one is a tragedy
The death of one is a tragedy
But death of a million is just a statistic

Everybody's wonderin' what and where they all came from.
Everybody's worryin' 'bout where they're gonna go when the whole thing's done.
But no one knows for certain and so it's all the same to me.
I think I'll just let the mystery be.

Some say once you're gone you're gone forever, and some say you're gonna come back.
Some say you rest in the arms of the Saviour if in sinful ways you lack.
Some say that they're comin' back in a garden, bunch of carrots and little sweet peas.
I think I'll just let the mystery be.

Everybody's wonderin' what and where they all came from.
Everybody's worryin' 'bout where they're gonna go when the whole thing's done.
But no one knows for certain and so it's all the same to me.
I think I'll just let the mystery be.

Some say they're goin' to a place called Glory and I ain't saying it ain't a fact.
But I've heard that I'm on the road to purgatory and I don't like the sound of that.
Well, I believe in love and I live my life accordingly.
But I choose to let the mystery be.

Everybody's wonderin' what and where they all came from.
Everybody's worryin' 'bout where they're gonna go when the whole thing's done.
But no one knows for certain and so it's all the same to me.
I think I'll just let the mystery be.
I think I'll just let the mystery be.

Losing My Religion

R.E.M. is the band. John Michael Stipe (born January 4, 1960) is the lead singer, composer and key to the band. The 60's and 70's had very focused music against war and the establishment. When the 80's rolled around the lyrics got fuzzy and meaningless, but they sound like they were really carrying a message. This is one of those songs and all R.E.M.s music was this way. You see and hear what you want. I do enjoy the music and look at the vocals as simply another instrument.
