Atheist vs Fox News Christians

David Silverman of American Atheist nails these guys.
Hands that help are better than lips that pray.

The woman's says Ewww to his atheist dialog. She also says "God didn't create the hurricane so how could he stop it". Huh?

  1. These Christians need to sincerely repent and learn how to argue in a Godly, and non-hypocritical manner. They are in the same boat as this atheist is in when it comes to the final judgement and they do not realize.

The following reference (among many others with a similar message) is for my Christian brothers and sisters to look up and contemplate:

    1 Peter 3:15,16

"But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed."

Don't instigate needless argument and strife. These "Christians" didn't even let Mr. Silverman talk. Who are you (my fellow follower of Christ) to be needed to give a defense for the Almighty? Losing an argument never converted anyone. Only the Holy Spirit can do that. Notice how the above verse says to wait for someone to ask you why you believe to give your defense (not to thrust your beliefs on a person who is there to about their own faith).

How amazing would it have been if Mr. Silverman went back to his organization and said, "I gave them everything I had against their religion and the invisible man in the sky... but they still treated me with kindness! I'll never admit to there being a god, but I gotta admit--when I was on the air they treated me better than I treated them."

Really study God's word. If you (Christians) aren't going to strive to make God look good, at least don't make Him look bad--falling into a "witty comeback" versus a "witty comeback" game. Nobody wins.

  2. Thank you for your thoughtful response. I can agree with you even as an atheist here.
