May The Force Be With You

Conservapedia is Wikipedia for conservatives. They don't like the Bible the way it is translated, not conservative enough. Apparently King James was a gay-commie-liberal. The Living Bible has an evolutionary bias. The NIV has a pro-abortion bias. Wow!

They list the reasons they want to create a new translation:
  • supported by conservative principles, the project can be bolder in uprooting and excluding liberal distortions
  • the project can adapt quickly to future threats from liberals to biblical integrity
  • the ensuing debate would flesh out -- and stop -- the infiltration of churches by liberals pretending to be Christian, much as a vote by legislators exposes the liberals
  • this would debunk the pervasive and hurtful myth that Jesus would be a political liberal today
  • an unbiased and truthful Bible is of immeasurable value to society
It is a myth that Jesus would be liberal AND THEY ARE UNBIASED. Good one.

The don't like Luke 23:34 where Jesus on the cross says about his persecutors "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." Too wimpy, so they just drop it from their version. They say they know that some of the people did know what they were doing. Amazing. They must have a time machine and are able to read minds and know more than Jesus.

Here is a entertaining translation by them. They don't like calling it the Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit. They prefer Yoda's term.

Luke 4:1 - King James Version
And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness

Luke 4:1 - Conservapedia translation
Filled with the force of God, Jesus returned from Jordan and was led by God's Spirit into the desert

Conservapedia Translation of Luke

Yes, the force is strong with this one. Christians always have an agenda. Conservatives take it to a new level.
