18 Reasons Why Christianity is Man-Made

The most obvious and yet most damning reason against Religion is that it is man made. Here is a great website that gives 18 reason why Christianity is man made. He makes the case that Christian apologist have arguments against them but they only satisfy the believer. All they need is one bent and barely stable rusty nail to hang onto to be satisfied. I recall buying such things when I was a Christian, but deep down inside, something just told me they really were flimsy defenses and happily for me they won they day. Good-bye cognitive dissonance. It is no wonder so many youtube videos made by Christians block the vote, block leaving a comment or you must wait for their approval. Doesn't that sound like fear? They cannot bear the truth. On the flip side the videos done by atheist allow the free flow of comments. This is all true for blogs as well.

The Evidence For Christianity

As Mark Twain said, "It is easier to fool people than to convince them they have been fooled."

The 18 arguments showing Christianity is man-made. I had added some of my thoughts here.
1. The flawed Bible
2. Jesus and Paul expected the apocalypse very soon even in that generations lifetime.
3. Converting a local god into a universal god, who heretofore left millions unaware.
4. No evidence to the historicity of Jesus beyond the New Testament.
5. Christian refusal to learn from new evidence and recite old arguments.
6. Prophecies of Jesus retrofitted into the Old Testament and poorly at that. The book of Matthew is quite flawed for me in particular.
7. The flimsy argument the NT was written by eye-witnesses. My favorite is the 500 who were resurrected when Jesus died and they are unnamed but apparently told everyone and yet not even one of them is named or has a book written by them.
8. The flawed argument that people will only give their lives for that which is true. No. They only need to be convinced its true. That doesn't make it true. The 9/11 terrorists flying into the World Trade Center is sufficient to dismiss that.
9. The mumbo jumbo about crowbarring Jesus into divinity where now the one god is three. That wasn't introduced until the late 4th century.
10. Christian apologist practice bait and switch tactics. They argue for the existence of god that could be used by any religion and then supposedly having you convinced they assume that proves their god, which is does not. It could just as easily apply to Thor, Odin, Vishnu or Enki.
11. In order to believe Christianity literally they are forced to believe the world is only 6000 years old and the arguments they use to ignore evidence is astonishing.
12. The obvious human endeavor to determine which books belonged in the Bible. They had to choose out of hundreds of books which one was god inspired. They was a long period of dispute and then once settled the command went out to destroy those books not in the canon. There is nothing awe inspiring about that process. This was done under the Roman Catholic reign, which many Protestants would not be happy about. Interestingly enough the gospels were unnamed for years until someone decided to give them a church leader's name (e.g. apostle) to provide clout. This was typical in ancient times. Additionally in comparing manuscripts of the New Testament there were thousands of errors, omissions and even additions so much so the author of Revelation gave a stern warning against the practice. A perfect god could have been more hands on.
13. The account of the death and resurrection of Jesus, the only thing that matters in Christianity, is contradictory when you read the 4 gospels side by side.
14. It is obvious from the style of writing that the gospel of John & Revelation were not the same authors. Revelations almost didn't make it into the NT (which frankly would have been great to cut down on all the nuts attracted to it), but they made the argument to accept it into the NT because they said it was written by the same author as the gospel of John which actually is not the case.
15. The author of the book of Revelation makes no claim about his cryptic prophecies being way off in the future but meant it to be applicable to his times. Meanwhile, generation after generation of Christians say it is for their time.
16. Christian history and particularly when Christianity is in power they torture and murder those who don't believe as they do. Sounds like a local god, doesn't it? Here in the U.S. they show the same proclivity to oppress others that don't believe as they do (e.g the laws against gays and abortion). A taste of things to come if they continue. Their local god gets pissed at those who don't agree with him, but somehow he is unable to take care of it himself. All-powerful or imaginary?
17. You shall know them by their fruits Jesus said. Yet morally speaking there is no difference between an atheist and a Christian or any other group of people who believe differently. How is it the one nation under god was one of the last to abolish slavery. And then there was and is the continual race hatred. Also, why did the loving Christians wipe out about every Native American populations? Is this the country they want to get us back to? For the answer ask a gay person.
18. Why are there so few details on heaven besides eternity bowing before god. Why is hell easier to understand?

  1. I humbly offer #19: that what has been considered divine revelation in the past is now demonstrably a symptom of mental illness and not in any way supernatural

  3. There might be a couple more you could add: Jesus was a failed prophet, which you hit on in Revelations, but not in Mark, Mathew, or Luke. Also, John is WAY different than the other three gospels. It pretty much leaves out any theme of End Times, and it is the only gospel to explicate that Jesus WAS God.

  4. Yes. and the gospel of John was the latest gospel. Thus the developing theology around this one called Jesus Christ (which is a title actually). The trinity was added as time went on. The Jews strongly believe in only one God. Jahweh kicked their asses enough time to make them believe that (as the story goes). Christians want to have their cake and eat it to. They really believe in multiple gods and when they try to say they are all the same god, it just makes the brain hurt only more. God impregnated a virgin to become a human to sacrifice himself to himself to save you and me from him and his fiery anger. So much to swallow. Fear God and Give Him Glory, i.e. be afraid and don't use that brain he gave you.

  5. First off, the old testament and the first few books of the quran and the torah are the same. They all show their being more then one God and yet remaining the same. You have your right to your opinion, but it seems to me your more upset that these christians don't accept your thoughts and I don't see them setting up blogs against your thoughts and opinons. One last thing. I don't see you attacking the muslims like you do the christians. prehaps its because you know you more likely to die because of it.The muslims believe in more then one god.

    1. Christianity is based on sin. The answer to your sin is through salvation. Jesus was sent by God, knowing his time on Earth was short. He only came for one purpose....to die for your sins. That's it. Christians follow the Bible. A man did not come along and start a religion calling it Christianity. All Christianity means is to follow God's (your creator) word and teachings and a whole lotta faith is required. There's no human man to worship or follow around. It's so silly to read all this nonsense, but it's normal for someone so lost. Many church's, pastors and people that go are not perfect and no one should base how they view Christianity on a church or churches. It's only about one thing only. A personal relationship between you and God. That's it. All God asks is that you believe. That's it.

    3. Actually a man DID come along and started the religion of Christianity.... his name is CONSTANTINE,go search him up.
And if there is no human man to be worshipped in Christianity, then why do you guys worship Jesus?? ✌

    4. And your right about Jesus being sent by God to earth and that he only came for one purpose only... which is to be a prophet of Allah. And um if you guys don't worship or follow a human man then why you guys worship Jesus? Oh yeah because you guys say he is God.But why would God kill himself? See that just doesn't make sense and even you know that too

  6. hahahaha, if you don't believe the bible then why are you making such a stink about it? why aren't you on the roll with the muslims, buddist, and others? you can't attack one reasonably with out attacking the others. If you know as much as you act that you do you would know that Jew,Muslims, and Christians all believe in Jesus.

  7. There are lots of websites and youtube bloggers who are Christian cutting down atheism and evolution. They are easy to find.
I also criticize muslims. Click on my label "Islam".
I don't like how Christians and Muslims have made their way into politics. Jesus said "My kingdom is not of this world". Christians dismiss that. They are doing their best to nation build - One nation under god. That I resist. Don't see any buddhist doing the same.

    1. Buddhists aren't religious as such. They don't have gods, they follow the teachings of real people like the Buddhas and Confucius.

  10. Hinduism is real and has facts attached to it. Buddhists came from Hindus and Islam is worshiping a Hindu god. Dig a little bit more than the truth will be out. Peace

  11. Choose what to believe and believe what you choose, all the same it shall come to pass "death". At that point you may remember win or lost. i hope you will win. As a wise thinker like you, i hope you have your passport, visa, and ticket to the nonreturnable trip. Were you the best in your class? if no why? so not all the answer you thought were right. But i think the most wise on earth will say this ' TRUE GOD REVILE YOURSELF TO ME BEFORE I MEET YOU UNAWARE'.

  12. The life of Jesus Christ was the result of the the witting of the Book of Genesis.Genesis was written to establish a line of heredity to the creation of the first human pair.so Jewish landowners could have a claim to their after returning from exile in Babylon. This legal claim was requested by Cyrus the Great to allow a peaceful return of Jews from exile. The life of Jesus Christ was then developed on the logic of the fall of man. In essence Jesus Christ was planned by Jewish landowners to account for the fraudulent account of Genesis. This plan was created without the Jewish clergy's knowledge. When the plan was fully in place, Mary was rape and threaten to abide by the plan or her life would be ruined and they would then present the same dilemma to another Jewish girl until there was cooperation. The life of Jesus was allowed to proceed as planned to the success they desired
