E Pluribus Unum

E pluribus unum
Latin for "Out of many, one"—is a phrase on the Seal of the United States, along with Annuit cœptis and Novus ordo seclorum, and adopted by an Act of Congress in 1782. Never codified by law, E pluribus unum was considered a de facto motto of the United States until 1956 when the United States Congress passed an act (H.J. Resolution 396), adopting "In God We Trust" as the official motto.

In God We Trust has appeared sporadically on U.S. coins since 1864 and on paper currency since 1957. How did we survive the 100 years before? Why didn't Washington and Adams insist on making that our motto instead? Maybe lot of Unitarian, Episcopal and Deists saw the mess that Christianity did to Europe? Maybe fundamentalist was viewed as simply wrong.

The Right is re-"righting" history since 1956. We were in no sense a Christian nation per the Treaty Of Tripoli. We were secular allowing for all beliefs, even atheism. We were united in spite of and also because of our differences. That is what our forefathers created and guess who is trying hard to take that away. They love themselves some more Dark Ages.

Seven Days Without Prayer

Prayer is for continuing to delude yourself. Makes you strong in believing in an imaginary sky daddy. "Lord, I believe, help thou my unbelief". If you have to keep deluding yourself doesn't that tell you this is simple bullshit?

Have you guilted yourself today because you have disbelief? Jesus is annoyed at you for not believing in him and frankly he is tired of you. I think that qualifies him as a petty god.

Mark 9:14-31
When they came to the other disciples, they saw a large crowd around them and the teachers of the law arguing with them. As soon as all the people saw Jesus, they were overwhelmed with wonder and ran to greet him.

“What are you arguing with them about?” he asked.

A man in the crowd answered, “Teacher, I brought you my son, who is possessed by a spirit that has robbed him of speech. Whenever it seizes him, it throws him to the ground. He foams at the mouth, gnashes his teeth and becomes rigid. I asked your disciples to drive out the spirit, but they could not.”

“O unbelieving generation,” Jesus replied, “how long shall I stay with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring the boy to me.”

So they brought him. When the spirit saw Jesus, it immediately threw the boy into a convulsion. He fell to the ground and rolled around, foaming at the mouth.

Jesus asked the boy’s father, “How long has he been like this?”

“From childhood,” he answered. “It has often thrown him into fire or water to kill him. But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us.”

“‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for him who believes.”

Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!”

When Jesus saw that a crowd was running to the scene, he rebuked the evil spirit. “You deaf and mute spirit,” he said, “I command you, come out of him and never enter him again.”

The spirit shrieked, convulsed him violently and came out. The boy looked so much like a corpse that many said, “He’s dead.” But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him to his feet, and he stood up.

After Jesus had gone indoors, his disciples asked him privately, “Why couldn’t we drive it out?”

He replied, “This kind can come out only by prayer.”

What Woman Would Sleep With A 900 Year Old Man?

One incredible voice for a great song.

Aretha Louise Franklin (born March 25, 1942) is an American singer, songwriter, and pianist. Although known for her soul recordings and referred to as The Queen of Soul, Franklin is also adept at jazz, blues, R&B, gospel music, and rock. Rolling Stone magazine ranked her atop its list of The Greatest Singers of All Time.
It ain't necessarily so
It ain't necessarily so
The t'ings dat yo' li'ble
To read in de Bible,
It ain't necessarily so.

Li'l David was small, but oh my !
Yes David was small, but oh my !
He fought Big Goliath
Who lay down an' dieth !
Yes David was small, but oh my !

Oh Jonah, he lived in de whale,
Oh Jonah, he lived in de whale,
And he made his home in
Dat fish's abdomen.
Oh Jonah, he lived in de whale.

To get into Hebben
Don' snap for a sebben !
Live clean ! Don' have no fault !
Oh, I takes dat gospel
Whenever it's pos'ble,
But wid a little grain of salt.

Methus'lah lived nine hundred years,
Methus'lah lived nine hundred years,
But who calls dat livin'
When no gal will give in
To no man what's nine hundred years ?

That's why I say it ain't
It ain't necessarily so
Ain't nece-ain't nece
Ain't necessarily ... so !

DNA or Revelation

Dear Christian reader suppose for a moment you are a juror and the case is the crime of murder. The prosecution lays out the case against this man you have not met before happily. The case against him is that he broke into a house where he had never been before. The family and friends have testified to that. But in the kitchen as he was filling his bag with the stolen goods, the man of the house switches on the light and confronts him. The burglar is surprised thinking the house empty. They immediately go into a struggle. The burglar sees on the counter a knife block and is able to grab the largest knife. He plunges it into the man's chest who crumples to the floor as the blood slowly runs out around him. The burglar stands motionless for a second. The wife of the house comes into the kitchen and screams to the top of her voice. This awakens the now murderer who flees the scene.

In time the man is caught and brought to trial. You hear the evidence which now includes the murderer's DNA and fingerprints. The wife says on the stand it could be him but she only saw him for that split second and says her attention was more on her dying husband. She breaks down in tears and is excused.

The trial goes on for days with each side presenting their case. One evening your trusted Christian friend comes over and tells you he has had a vision from God, Jesus himself spoke. He told your friend that the man is not the murderer. You must vote not guilty when it comes to the decision. At this point you must be somewhat confused because this friend has never lied ever before and he has your confidence.

On the one hand you have overwhelming scientific evidence. On the other you have human witnesses. The wife unsure. Your Christian friend is very sure that God has revealed to him the man's innocence. Do you go with science or revelation?

If you go with revelation, do you think that it should be allowed in this court case or for that matter any court case? Should it have equal value to DNA or more?

The First Rock And Roll Song

"Rocket 88" (originally written as Rocket "88") is a rhythm and blues song that was first recorded at Sam Phillips' recording studio in Memphis, Tennessee, on 3 March or 5 March 1951 (accounts differ). It has been claimed by Phillips and some music critics to be the "first rock and roll song".

A 61 year old song. Wow!

Mexico's Grand Warlock Makes 2012 Predictions

1. Obama will lose.
2. Hugo Chavez will not recover from cancer
3. Enrico Nieto will be Mexico's next president

His DISCLAIMER
He says these are not written in stone and can be changed with magic potions, prayers, positive thinking. Interesting Christians don't put in such a disclaimer on their predictions, but then they have the Bible to live up to.

Deu 18:21-22
You may say to yourselves, “How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the Lord?” If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord does not take place or come true, that is a message the Lord has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him.

Blasphemy Is A Victimless Crime

I'll throw a pie in the face of piety
I'll torch a torah right off a bridge
I am a reverend of irreverence
I'm a shill for any sacrilege
I understand that faith in a deity
Helps the masses who are having hard times
But blasphemy like prostitution
Are clearly victimless crimes

Blasphemy, blasphe-you, Jesus Christ the blackest Jew
Blasphe-you, blasphemy, poisonous pedagogy

I'm an unbeliever, I'm a heretic
I'm gonna projectile puke off a pew
I'm a trouble making immature imp
I'm gonna turn your other cheek for you
I understand we all need something to believe in
I believe I'll never be given wings and
I'm sorry if it's up there cuz I didn't think
A song was gonna hurt its feelings

Blasphemy, speaking deadpan
Apparently this god has got a master plan
Now they call foul, pure heresy
But ya gotta wonder, does he have a plan B?

Horus similar to Mithra, Attis analogous to Krishna
Jesus, different name same story
All based on ancient Egyptian allegory
My position hasn't been occulted
It can never be more overstated
My intelligence has been insulted
So my tongue lashes out in defense
Anything that is your holy or sacred
I'm gonna desecrate and use in jest
But you'll never hear a crack about Mohammed
Cuz I don't wanna get shot in the chest

Blasphemy, isn't this fun
Rob a rabbi, bugger a nun
Blasphemy, want some more?
Mother Mary, the virgin whore

An Atheist Beaten, Jailed and Now Being Erased

Alexander An, 31 years old, an Indonesian civil servant, was born a Muslim but on his facebook page he recently wrote "God does not exists". He was attacked and beaten by an angry mob in his home town of Pulau Punjung, a small island and remote. He has been arrested. He could face serious jail time for free thought. His facebook posts no longer appear. The religious are erasing him. For those of us in America who see the religious are demanding God and country....well, this is certainly a lesson. Religious history playing out in front of us with the good fortune of being able to know of this through the internet. Otherwise we would never have heard of Alexander An and his incredible bravery. Could I living in such a country speak up?

The Telegraph writes:

Under the Indonesian criminal code blasphemy is defined as publicly expressing feelings or taking some action that spreads hatred, abuse or taints a religion in a way it would cause someone to disbelieve any of the country's six official religions.

They don't care what imaginary god you believe in but just as long as you believe in one of the six. And they greatly fear you might cause someone to think. The religious certainly froth at the mouth. They resent atheists so deeply they contradict themselves. You will hear them shout "Freedom of religion is not freedom from religion" and in the next breath they say "Atheism is a religion". They sure like to have their cake and eat it too. Logic does not and cannot matter when you believe in something that there is no evidence for. We can simply and plainly say God does not exist. Certainly His followers demonstrate He has made the heart and brain for nothing. Love and thought have been shown the door. They are empty words on the mouth of the religious. Don't believe them.

Telegraph.Co.UK article

The Telegraph also writes:
The man told police investigators that if God really exists and has absolute power, why didn't he prevent bad things from happening in this world.
And with that the religious did bad things to him. Irony?

Thank You Dr. Laura

Dear Dr. Laura,

Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God's law. I have learned a great deal from you, and I try to share that knowledge with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind him that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination. End of debate. I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some of the specific laws and how to best follow them.

When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor to the Lord (Lev. 1:9). The problem is my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. How should I deal with this I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as it suggests in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?

I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is on her period of menstrual uncleanliness (Lev. 15:19-24). The problem is, how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.

Lev. 25:44 states that I may buy slaves from the nations that are around us. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans but not Canadians. Can you clarify?

I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself?

A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination (Lev. 10:10), it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this?

Lev. 20:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle room here?

I know you have studied these things extensively, so I am confident you can help. Thank you again for reminding us that God's word is eternal and unchanging.

You can double click on this for readability.

Act Of God Please

Oh he is busy? Well, here is a old, stupid book that we argue over. See, it is proof that gullible people once lived so there must be a god who will burn you unless you do something called repenting, which we argue over what it means. But it is clearly only one way...we just don't agree on what way...but you are safe if you don't listen to those other Christians and do it our way...Well, we hope anyway...Have a nice day or burn in hell.
